Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the habituation of Qur'an memorization submission as a means of strengthening the religious character of elementary school students, motivated by the gap between the acquisition of religious knowledge and its manifestation in everyday moral behavior. The aim of this study is to describe the program mechanism, analyze its role in changes in religious attitudes, and identify the determining factors and teachers' strategies. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design at Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Quran Annida Sukabumi through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the program, which is structured into three stages, namely classical muroja'ah, independent preparation, and individual memorization submission, significantly transformed students' behavior in terms of discipline, honesty, responsibility, and ethics. This success was supported by a religious environment and teachers' role modeling, while obstacles in the form of differences in memory capacity, anxiety, and limited parental assistance were addressed through differentiated approaches, positive reinforcement, and collaborative digital-based communication. The study concludes that systematic habituation through Qur'an memorization submission effectively develops a Qur'anic personality, thereby strengthening and extending character education theory by highlighting the role of the educational ecosystem and pedagogical strategies. The practical implications encourage collaboration among the three centers of education and the development of a process-oriented curriculum, while the theoretical implications enrich Islamic educational psychology regarding the internalization of values through structured religious rituals.
